Brand Ambassador Review: Gnarly Whale Shampoo

Today we have our Brand Ambassador Ange talking about our funnel cake shampoo!

It took me a minute to figure out how to start this post, because “Ohhhh and Ahhhh’s” would have my high school English teacher freaking out if I started a sentence that way but I’m at a loss. That is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of the Funnel Cake Shampoo from Gnarly Whale. Remember those old Herbal Essences commercials? Totally me in the shower with this shampoo.

You guys, it smells like funnel cake! You have no idea what that does to this Jersey girls heart, it’s like I’m instantly sent directly back to my childhood and walking the boardwalk along the Jersey Shore. It’s a carnival, in your hair. This shampoo, could probably bring me to tears.. in a good way, not the chemicals burning my eyes kind of way (because it’s completely safe and vegan) the best possible way because it embodies my youth. It’s a scent that takes me back to a time when life was free and easy. Who knew that a shampoo could do such things? I’m here to tell you this one can. Do you have a scent that reminds you of something amazing? Gnarly Whale probably has it & you should definitely get it in the form of a shampoo! I know I sound like a crazy person right now, but after washing my hair and getting the hint of the scent all day, it just makes me super happy! Is that crazy weird? Maybe.

Let’s get down to the real important details… This lathers up so well, I have never seen another handmade shampoo that has this type of lather. It actually could go toe to toe with some of my name brand shampoo’s in the suds department and they would not stand a chance! It’s a clarifying shampoo without the junk, that’s the best way I can describe it since it’s free of chemicals but still packs a punch and rids your hair of product buildup, and believe me I know this because I use A LOT of product; I’m in Jersey I strive to achieve big hair!

You get a lot of bang for your buck with this baby, a little bit goes a long way. I have super dry, fine, and almost straggly like hair and this works perfectly and leaves my hair super shiny!  I will speak to you thicker haired gals as well, I let one of my best friends try this and she has thick curls for days and she is loving it!

The Ingredients? So safe, you can use it on your puppy (I know because I did, and he’s my baby) >> Gnarly Whale shampoo includes distilled water, triethanolamine lauryl sulfate (for lather), cocamide dea (coconut derived foaming & emulsifying agent), essential oils and/or fragrance, and grapefruit seed extract. Don’t be afraid of the word sulfate, I know people say to stay away from it because it can strip your hair color but this one is so gentle and it doesn’t I’m still as red as the day I threw the box dye on!

Funnel Cake may not be your thing, and that’s ok not everyone is as nuts as I am so if you don’t want the carnival in your hair (although I can’t imagine why) have no fear because so many scent options and essential oils have been added and you can CHOOSE YOUR OWN! May I suggest Sugar Plum? I’m trying it in a detangler and I’m thinking about spraying it on my sheets and rolling around in it because it’s that amazing!
